About Us
- We are a non-profit organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada that
began in the 1980's. LVPCUG relies on its members to provide unique resources
for the benefit of those interested in computers.
- The organization's goals are to promote fellowship among members, share
computer knowledge and contribute computer expertise. Members use, recommend
and install the latest products, and help individuals to utilize the capabilities
of the technology they own.
- Any individuals interested in computers may apply for membership.
Whether you are a
novice, expert, computer professional, or an average computer
user who wants to maximize your skills and acquire more, we invite you
to join with us in pursuing this collaborative mission.
- This is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn more about computers.
You can attend a meeting presented by a knowledgeable speaker; explore
your interest with Special Interest Group; get a copy of the
latest
newsletter
that contains technical articles, reviews, and other news to read at your
leisure.
- A General Meeting is
held periodically (monthly
meetings are not presently scheduled). We
usually
have a well-known computer expert to present a live demonstration of the
latest and greatest computer hardware, software or related service followed
by a door prize drawing. Visitors are welcome to join us.
- The LVPCUG also maintains an information telephone line, which outlines
our General Meeting and where questions may be left.
All phone messages
will be responded to by one of our board members.
- We have Special Interest Groups
(SIGs) that cover many areas of specialization.
SIG's are composed of people who share common interests.
They meet on a regular basis
to hear speakers and share information on diverse topics such as desktop publishing, communications, databases, programming, spreadsheets,
word processing, beginner topics, etc.
